Applications now being accepted for the Jefferson County Ambulance District Commission seats

This newly established commission will provide oversight and direction for emergency medical services within the district. Commissioners will serve on the governing board responsible for setting policies, managing resources, and guiding the district’s development and operations to ensure high-quality service delivery to residents in accordance with I.C.§ 31-3914.

Qualified applicants must be a registered voter and reside within the subdistrict they represent for at least one (1) year immediately preceding their appointment. Appointed commissioners will serve until their successors are elected and qualified at the next regular election for ambulance service districts.

To establish leadership continuity, initial terms will be staggered as follows:

• The Commissioner from Subdistrict 1 will serve a two-year term
• Commissioners from Subdistricts 2 and 3 will each serve four-year terms

Upon appointment, each commissioner will take an oath of office and begin service following issuance of a certificate of appointment. The Jefferson County Clerk’s Office will coordinate with appointed commissioners to organize the board’s first official meeting and provide necessary administrative support.

“This marks an important step in the development of emergency services in Jefferson County,” said Jefferson County Commissioner Chairman Scott Hancock. “We are seeking individuals who are prepared to serve with integrity, responsibility, and a strong commitment to public service.”

Applications are available at online and at the Jefferson County Commissioner’s Office at 210 Courthouse Way, Suite 230, Rigby, Idaho 83442.

Applications will be accepted through August 15, 2025. For more information, contact Kimberly Murphy at 208-745-9222.
